If you have some mini-me’s running around or a big fam is on the cards for the future, you’ll need to look at house plans that cater to the needs of a family.
You’ll want common areas to create space for quality family time like dining, entertainment or gaming. Look for layouts that include open-plan living and kitchen areas, separate theatre or games rooms, or large outdoor alfresco.
Individual space is also super important. Some super clever floorplans create a separate wing for the kids with their own dedicated bathroom, whilst the main bedroom for the parents is tucked away at the other end of the house (ahhh privacy 😊).
Also think about the changing needs of you, and your kids as they get older. They might want a teen hangout space or need a spot to study, and you might want a study for that future business… so plans that have more rooms or multi-use spaces might be better suited.
Also storage is a must. Look for large pantries or linen cupboards, or spaces where furniture can help keep the clutter hidden away.
