“My favourite part of the build? The slab going down. And then the bricks arrive. Then the walls went up, then the windows went in, and then we had a roof,” she recalled.
“Every single part of the journey has been so exciting.”

“The best part was probably having my whole family, the girls, watch it in its progress and then seeing our dream little house come to life.”

“The courtyard is one of my favourite parts of this house as well. Heaps of sunlight, lots of fresh air, a little place for her to sit and read books.”

A place to finally call their own

Beyond the build, it’s the freedom of owning her own home that brings the most joy.

“The best thing about having our own place is obviously being able to decorate, paint whatever colours we wanted to, put the pictures up wherever we want. And just basically creating all the memories. This is going to be ours to keep – we don’t have to up and move.”

And their first Christmas in the new home? Unforgettable.

“We set up a little Christmas tree. The girls got to decorate. Just being in our own space made it all the more special.”
